These boots are something I've planned on reviewing ever since I started this thing here and laid claim to my little piece of the internet. While I haven't gone around putting up fence on this property to keep out the hooligans just yet, I certainly have the boots to do it with. I have had a pair of tan Oakley SI Assault boots since about mid-2008ish. They wore in great and are very comfortable for my feet, I love them but I can't really say I'm too much of a boot connoisseur per se. I have worn a few different pairs of boots over the years and I have come to love my Oakleys.
Yes, that's plural, Oakleys.

My Personal EDC (Every Day Carry)
"Everyday Carry, or EDC, generally refers to small items or gadgets worn, carried, or made available in pockets, holsters, or bags on a daily basis to manage common tasks or for use in unexpected situations or emergencies. In a broader sense, it is a lifestyle, discipline, or philosophy of preparedness." (http://everyday-carry.com/) This is my personal EDC, what I carry, and why I carry it:
Oakley Oil Rig Project, Update
So I have the glasses all sanded down, from here I will take one of two options, either I will borrow a dremel and try to make them look like carbon fiber, or I will tape them up and paint them flat black to hide any flaws, I'm thinking I will try the dremel tool first to see how that turns out and then try the paint. If both of those fail, the glasses will be given away.

Oakley Oil Rig Project. Pt 2.
Ok, so my first attempt with the Oil Rig sunglasses has failed, miserably. The paint would not smooth out or sand down at all and i just had no luck with them...
The new plan is to bring them back to a matte or flat black. they are sitting in a bucket of solvent right now which hopefully will help. Here is what they looked like after they were painted

FIRST POST!!! Also, Oakley Oil Rig project
Well, for my first post I want to share a small project I just started, I found a pair of Oakley Oil Rig sunglasses on the beach but they were really beat up so I have decided to paint them a flat white and get some new lenses for them. Taking them apart was probably the hardest part of the project so far, I ended up pulling the right side of the lens out by pulling up on the support and pushing out on the lens, then repeating the process on the left side, the arms were somewhat more difficult but I just twisted them out of place and they came right out, it was scary at first to come so close to breaking a pair of Oakley's but I think it will be worth it. I sanded them down until I got a good surface for the paint to bond to and the Oakley symbol looks like a burnt metal. Right now I am trying to decide between either Ice Iridium, Emerald Iridium, Titanium Iridium, or Black Iridium Polarized. If you have any ideas post them in the comments!
